Egbert Schillings is the Chief Commercial Officer of the life-changing HealthTech, Vara. Vara uses AI to help radioographers and onchologists detect breast cancer in the earliest stages. Egbert discussed how the typical process requires a 2-stage approval process, which is time and resource consuming, as well as still prone to mistakes. The goal of Vara is to replace the second approval with AI, enabling professionals to have more time, as well as improving the accuracy of diagnosis, saving lives and further resources from misdiagnosis down the line.
Egbert’s talk blew our attendees away, and also sparked conversation and comparison with our in-person event, which featured Optellum, the AI-enabled lung cancer detection software. A really fascinating talk with outcomes and lessons that can be applied to any business wanting to implement AI effectively.
