The business is looking for a Senior Database Engineer to join their lean, high-performing team. This is a backfill role with responsibility for delivering database improvements, modernising legacy systems, and driving adoption of automation and AI tools across the business.

Responsibilities as a Senior Database Engineer:

• As a Senior Database Engineer, deliver improvements and modernisation across core database systems
• Architect, deploy, and maintain highly available, scalable database solutions in Azure and PostgreSQL
• Lead migrations from legacy on-prem SQL systems to cloud-native platforms
• Design database scaling strategies and operational workflows
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure secure, reliable data delivery
• Participate in CI/CD pipeline management and automation (Terraform, Azure DevOps)
• Resolve complex incidents and implement preventative strategies

Key Requirements:

• Strong expertise in database architecture, design, and administration
• Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, and PostgreSQL
• Migrations, CI/CD, and database automation (Terraform, PowerShell/Python)
• Kubernetes and cloud-native database operations
