Principal Software Engineer

We’re supporting a global luxury brand with a mission to push boundaries in digital commerce innovation. They’re investing heavily in their tech ecosystem and are now looking for a Principal Software Engineer to take a lead role in shaping platform engineering strategy and guiding backend delivery across a complex digital estate.

This is a highly influential position where you’ll combine technical leadership with hands-on expertise, helping set direction for cloud infrastructure, backend systems, and CI/CD practices. You’ll work across multiple product teams, partner with DevOps and architecture, and mentor engineers to raise the bar on technical excellence.

As a Principal Software Engineer you’ll be reviewing designs, solving complex engineering challenges, ensuring knowledge is shared effectively, and helping teams work smarter at scale.

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will have the following:

• Extensive Node.js backend development experience with deep understanding of CI/CD
• Proven expertise in AWS (Lambda, Fargate, CDK/Terraform or similar)
• Ability to simplify complexity, influence stakeholders, and create clarity in evolving environments
• Excellent communication skills and ability to partner with diverse technical & non-technical stakeholders
• Passion for driving consistency, reusability, and reliability at scale

Package on Offer:

• Salary: Up to £110,000 + Bonus
