Contract Wintel Engineer

Contract Wintel Engineer | Up to £525 Inside IR35 | Hybrid London – 1 day per week | 6 months (rolling)

We’re looking for a Wintel Engineer to support a major Windows rollout with a retail customer or ours.

The successful Wintel Engineer will work across new physical stores, till systems, EPOS, and supporting endpoint tools. You’ll be working as part of a fast-moving infrastructure team, delivering modern desktop, endpoint, and server solutions in a retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support a large-scale Windows infrastructure rollout (stores, tills, EPOS, ePods).
• Manage and configure endpoint management solutions (UEM/UCP).
• Deliver infrastructure changes using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Support AWS-hosted infrastructure alongside on-premises Wintel estate.
• Implement and maintain desktop tools and software for end users.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Windows server, endpoint, and rollout-related issues.

Skills & Experience:

• Windows server and desktop engineering.
• AWS
• Terraform
• Proven endpoint management / UEM / UCP experience.
• Previous experience rolling out new physical infrastructure (stores, tills, or similar retail systems).
• Knowledge of EPOS/ePod systems and retail software rollouts is desirable.
