About the Role:

As a Staff Back-End Engineer, you’ll step into a position that provides both technical challenges and unparalleled ownership and autonomy. You’ll play a key role in scaling a unique AI-driven platform that enables tens of thousands of users to participate in real-time video conversations, shaping critical decisions in their organizations.

With enterprise clients already on board and rapid growth on the horizon, your expertise will be crucial in delivering a robust and scalable architecture capable of handling high levels of concurrent users. You’ll contribute to and lead architectural discussions, ensuring the platform remains cutting-edge and resilient.

As Staff Back-End Engineer you should have experience in:

• Extensive experience (5+ years) in a production environment
• Strong expertise in cloud infrastructure, with a preference for AWS
• Proficiency in system design and architecture
• Hands-on experience with real-time, event-driven services
• Demonstrated ability to deliver resilient, high-performance systems
• Skilled at navigating and prioritizing tasks in ambiguous situations

An ideal candidate will have experience working with:

• Knowledge of CDK for infrastructure deployment
• Understanding of event-driven architecture
• Hands-on experience with ECS and Kubernetes for application deployment
• Familiarity with JVM languages (Java, Kotlin, Scala) and tools like Terraform
• Experience with Postgres for persistent data storage
• Skilled in React for frontend development
• Strong familiarity with AWS for production and staging environments
• Proficiency in Kotlin for backend development
• Background in working with early-stage startup environments
• Expertise in Kafka for asynchronous messaging
