Senior Backend Engineer

Location: London – 2 – 3 days/Hybrid

We’re working with an early stage start up focused on AI HR tooling to drastically improve performance and efficiency. They are a small, focused team looking for a Backend Engineer to help them scale up their AI platform and make a real impact.

They are looking for an Engineer with commercial Python experience with knowledge of other backend languages like Java, Golang or Rust.

Responsibilities:

• Build and scale backend systems for AI-driven automation products.
• Collaborate with product and frontend teams on planning and decision-making.
• Contribute to architecture, design, and scaling efforts.
• Selling Points: no technical debt – a lot of room for innovation with new tech.

Key Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in Python (required for working with our existing codebase)
• 5+ years of backend development experience
• Strong programming skills in Java, Go, or Rust
• Proven experience with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs
• Experience integrating with enterprise systems such as CRM, ERP, or similar platforms
• Proficient with both NoSQL and SQL databases
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
