Transformation Director (FTC or Contract) Product & Engineering Transformation

Hybrid, Central London (2 days onsite)

£180,000 + 10% pension (FTC) or £750–£800/day Inside IR35 (contract) | 6 months

I’m on the lookout for a standout Transformation Director. Your background should show you’ve taken a large product and engineering function from an agile build culture to clear, accountable portfolio delivery, in a highly governed environment where investment decisions are closely scrutinised. We’re working exclusively with a major UK organisation to find a Transformation Director. The role sits just below C-suite in their Product & Engineering function and reports directly into the C-suite.

This isn’t a product ownership role. You’ll build the governance and delivery capability across product and engineering, so leadership can see exactly what’s being delivered, what it costs and whether it’s on track.

What you’ll be doing as Transformation Director:

• Support an organisational redesign that moves product and engineering teams from a pure agile build culture to portfolio and workstream delivery, with reportable budgets, timelines and status
• Set up the structure and frameworks for monthly and quarterly business reviews and regular review cycles across departments
• Turn this into a methodology the leadership team adopts as the way the business is run
• Oversee and enable a programme and project management function that owns governance and delivery frameworks across product and engineering
• Work closely with C-suite stakeholders and their high-calibre senior teams

What they’re looking for in a Transformation Lead:

• Senior transformation, programme or portfolio leadership experience at director level
• A background in complex, highly governed environments where spend is closely scrutinised and accountable
• A proven track record of embedding governance, KPIs and review cadences across a large function
• The credibility and confidence to influence and challenge at the most senior level
