Senior Product Compliance Manager

London | Hybrid (4 days onsite) | Up to £95,000 + benefits | Permanent

We're working with a growing technology business that designs and builds its own connected hardware, looking for a Senior Product Compliance Manager. Their products draw mains power and sit online in public spaces, so nothing reaches a customer until it's been certified for that market, across the UK, EU and US. They're bringing that ownership in-house and this is the person who takes it.

Essentials for a Senior Product Compliance Manager

• Substantial experience owning product compliance or quality engineering for electrical or electronic hardware, with full ownership
• Expert working knowledge of CE marking across EMC, Low Voltage, Machinery and radio, plus RoHS and UKCA
• Evidence of taking products through certification from design stage to launch
• Experience managing external test labs and notified bodies, including handling failures and getting retests turned round without the launch slipping
• Comfortable building and maintaining technical files and DoCs to a standard that survives an audit
• Able to read regulatory text and turn it into something an engineer can act on.. translation is key

Nice to have for a Senior Product Compliance Manager

• UL and FCC experience, or the appetite to build the US side from scratch
• ISO 9001 and hands-on ownership of a Quality Management System
• Root cause analysis on field failures and non-conformances
• WEEE, packaging waste or wider environmental obligations
• Background in a product category with payments, refrigeration or connectivity in the mix

You'd own compliance across the full product range and be the person unblocking sales into new markets rather than signing off at the end. Engineering and product sit in the same building so you shape specifications early, and the four days onsite is deliberate.. the product, the test samples and the engineers are all there!
