RFID Project Manager
JOB PURPOSE
We are seeking an experienced RFID Project Manager to lead the planning, governance, and delivery of strategic RFID initiatives across our global luxury retail and apparel business. This role will be responsible for driving end-to-end RFID programmes that improve inventory accuracy, stock visibility, omnichannel fulfilment, loss prevention, operational efficiency, and customer experience across stores, distribution centres, and corporate functions.
The successful candidate will bring strong project management expertise, with a proven track record of delivering complex retail technology programmes within luxury retail, fashion, apparel, or consumer goods environments. They will establish robust project governance, manage programme risks and dependencies, and engage effectively with senior business and technology stakeholders to ensure successful delivery and adoption.
Working closely with Retail Operations, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Store Technology, Digital, Finance, and third-party RFID solution providers, the RFID Project Manager will lead initiatives from business case and planning through pilot deployment, rollout, go-live, and transition into operational support.
This contract is expected to run for 6–12 months, with the potential for extension based on programme requirements and future RFID roadmap initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Planning & Delivery
· Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans covering scope, timelines, resources, budgets, milestones, dependencies, and critical paths.
· Lead end-to-end delivery of RFID programmes from initiation through deployment and hypercare.
· Establish clear workstreams, delivery plans, and implementation roadmaps across business and technology teams.
· Coordinate activities across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives.
· Manage project budgets, forecasts, resource plans, and vendor deliverables.
Governance & Programme Controls
· Establish and maintain effective project governance structures, including steering committees, working groups, and executive reporting.
· Produce and present regular programme status updates, dashboards, and executive communications.
· Ensure adherence to project management methodologies, governance standards, and organisational delivery frameworks.
· Drive decision-making through structured governance forums and clear escalation pathways.
· Maintain project documentation including business cases, project charters, RAID logs, status reports, and deployment readiness assessments.
RAID Management
· Own and actively manage programme RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies).
· Identify, assess, mitigate, and escalate risks and issues in a proactive and timely manner.
· Facilitate cross-functional dependency management across technology, operations, supply chain, and third-party partners.
· Ensure mitigation plans are defined, tracked, and executed to minimise programme impact.
· Provide clear visibility of programme health and delivery risks to senior stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
· Build strong relationships with senior business leaders and key stakeholders across Retail, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Logistics, Finance, Loss Prevention, Digital, and IT.
· Act as the primary point of contact between business teams, technology functions, and external delivery partners.
· Facilitate workshops, steering committees, governance forums, and executive updates.
· Drive stakeholder alignment on programme objectives, priorities, timelines, and delivery decisions.
· Support change management and business adoption activities to maximise RFID programme benefits.
Vendor & Partner Management
· Manage relationships with RFID software vendors, hardware providers, system integrators, and implementation partners.
· Oversee partner delivery performance against agreed scope, milestones, budgets, and service levels.
· Support vendor selection, RFP processes, contract negotiations, and solution evaluations where required.
· Ensure third-party deliverables meet quality, security, operational, and business requirements.
RFID & Retail Transformation
· Lead RFID deployments across stores, distribution centres, and supporting retail operations.
· Collaborate with business teams to define RFID use cases, operational processes, and success criteria.
· Support integration activities involving ERP, POS, inventory management, warehouse management, and reporting platforms.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives leveraging RFID data and operational insights.
· Ensure solutions deliver measurable business outcomes including inventory accuracy, stock visibility, replenishment effectiveness, and omnichannel enablement.
Travel
· Occasional travel within EMEA and other global locations may be required to support programme delivery, pilots, and stakeholder engagement.
PERSONAL PROFILE
· Proven experience delivering large-scale RFID, retail technology, supply chain, or inventory visibility programmes within luxury retail, fashion, apparel, or consumer goods organisations.
· Strong project and programme management expertise with demonstrated success delivering complex, multi-market initiatives.
· Extensive experience establishing project governance frameworks and reporting to senior leadership and steering committees.
· Strong RAID management capabilities, with a structured and proactive approach to risk and dependency management.
· Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all organisational levels.
· Experience managing third-party vendors, system integrators, and technology delivery partners.
· Strong understanding of retail operations, inventory management, supply chain processes, and omnichannel retailing.
· Experience supporting technology implementations across stores, distribution centres, and corporate functions.
· Familiarity with RFID platforms, retail systems, ERP integrations, POS solutions, inventory management systems, or supply chain technologies is highly desirable.
· Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
· Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
· Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable operating within a fast-paced global retail environment.
· Prince2, PMP, Agile, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
· Genuine passion for luxury retail, fashion, and consumer experience innovation.
