In April, Formula Recruitment hosted their largest Talking About Innovation event, focused on women working in technology. The event aimed to create impact by widening the audience beyond women’s networks to include leaders of all genders.
Why Women in Tech?
The challenge is stark: “50% of women quit the tech industry before the age of 35,” attributed to insufficient inclusivity. This challenge disproportionately affects women of colour and LBT women.
A significant gap exists between leadership perception and employee experience — 68% of leaders believe their companies foster “empowering environments where people have a sense of belonging,” yet only 36% of employees concur. Since men predominantly hold leadership positions, their commitment to change becomes essential.
Improving tech industry diversity benefits everyone: “inclusivity doesn’t just benefit women, and improving diversity in the tech industry isn’t just a women’s issue, it’s a business issue.”
