Formula Recruitment installs solar panels to boost sustainability!

1 October 2024 By Hope

Formula Recruitment unveils solar panels on its Cornwall office in St. Ives, projected to generate over 21,000 kWh of clean energy annually and save approximately 4 tonnes of CO2 per year.

Everyone at Formula Recruitment is thrilled to announce the unveiling of solar panels on the roof of their Cornwall office in St. Ives. Since constructing the brand new headquarters in 2022, the long-term vision always included solar panel installation. Sustainability and energy efficiency represent core business values, and this project aligns perfectly with these goals. A government-backed grant through Cornwall & Isle of Scilly Growth Hub: Net Zero Funding accelerated the timeline.

The Project

Operations Manager Sally Morrison led the initiative, from grant application through strategic execution. She explains the rationale: “By transitioning to solar energy, we will reduce reliance on traditional power sources and improve environmental impact. From the financial aspect, this saves money long-term while providing greater energy security. With solar panels in place, operating costs decrease by generating our own power.”

The Benefits

GreenGenUK completed the installation in just two days. The solar PV system is projected to generate 21,265.3 kWh of clean energy annually. Environmental impact estimates indicate approximately 4.07 tonnes of CO2 savings yearly, helping the company meet sustainability targets and reduce its carbon footprint.

A Greener Future

Founder & CEO Jack Bainger expressed enthusiasm: “The solar installation coupled with our Tesla energy storage unit represents a significant step forward in our net zero strategy. We are now operating wholly from energy we create and storing the surplus. We’re not stopping at solar — we’re planning rainwater harvesting and much more to follow in coming months.”
